28th Annual Waterloo Jaycees Canoe Event
June 14-15th, 2008
Come join the Waterloo Jaycees as they host the
oldest sanctioned canoe race in the State of Iowa! This event consists of a 7.5-mile
race that starts at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls and finishes at the Waterloo
Boat House (near Riverfront Stadium). Both professional and recreational participants
are welcome to participate. Canoes, kayaks and personal floatation devices will
be available for rental. To guarantee use of rental equipment, pre-registration
is required.

Race Day! Entry fee is $15 per person/event and includes lunch. Cruising participants may compete in more than one category.

*97.7 KCRR will be on hand the entire day to provide great music and fun. There will also be plenty of food, beverages, outdoor games, face painting, and much more at the Waterloo Boat House from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come on out and have some fun!

A Portage Trail Excursion coordinated by the Iowa Whitewater Coalition and the Friends of Iowa Trails will begin at the Fisher Lake Boat Ramp (George Wyth State Park) at 9:00 a.m. The trail consists of 6 lakes and includes the Cedar River.
