10th Degree Jaycee & Governor #377
Email: President@waterloojaycees.org
Welcome! I am Cheryl (a.k.a. Cher) Meller and am proud to be the 80th President of the Waterloo Jaycees. I have been a member since 2004 and have proudly served in many positions within the Waterloo Jaycees; including Chairing and Co-Chairing the Fireworks Festival, Chairing the Gift of Giving three times and serving on the Board of Directors for the past 6-years in multiple positions. Since joining my involvement as helped shape my leadership skills, has allowed me to give back to my community, has developed professional networks that have been invaluable and most importantly allowed me to be a part of an organization with a rich history in the Cedar Valley.
I live in Waterloo with my husband Dustin and our cat Peanut. During the day, I work for the YMCA of Black Hawk County as the Development & Communications Director. I am also finishing my MA from UNI. In my free time I enjoy photography, watching HGTV, interior decorating and home improvements projects. I am excited for the year ahead and hope I can share the benefits of being a Jaycee with you!

My wife Jessica and I moved to the Cedar Valley in 2007 from Kansas. We became members of the Jaycees to meet new people and to help give back to the community. I currently work at A-S-K Associates as our Web Master/IT Support. I enjoy traveling, sports, yard games, and anything else that involves being outdoors, during the warmer months of course. I also enjoy spending time with my wife Jessica, daughter Kinley, and our dog Beasley.

I am currently the Marketing & Communications Director for the Waterloo Convention & Visitors Bureau and have been a Jaycee since 2008. Over the past few years I have steadily increased my involvement in the Jaycees allowing me to have a greater impact on my community, to get to know more people in the Cedar Valley and to improve my leadership qualities. I am a resident of Grundy Center where I live with my husband, Charlie, our two boys, Mox and Keller, and our dog, Penny. I’ll always be a Hawkeye fan, but graduated with a degree in public relations from Colorado State University. I truly enjoy being involved in our community and the Waterloo Jaycees allow me to do this in many ways.

Kim Loy – Vice President Individual Development
10th Degree Jaycee & Governor #390
Email: ID@waterloojaycees.org
I joined the Jaycees in 2005 when I moved back to the area after being gone for 9 years. I wanted to get involved in the community I grew up in, but also to meet other young professionals. In my time as a Jaycee, I have been involved both on the local level and the state level. I have been Membership director and VP, President, Chair of the Board, Iowa Jaycees Treasurer, State Director, and now I will be serving as the 2011 Individual Development VP. I have also co-chaired the Fireworks festival, and have been involved in just about every project that the Waterloo Jaycees do.
When I am not busy with the Jaycees, I am a LPA (Licensed Public Accountant) with Loy & Associates, LLP. It is a business that my parents started over 30 years ago, and I have watched it grow over the years. I am proud to be a part of their business now. When I am not at work or busy with the Jaycees, I can be found at the gym, hanging out with friends, or traveling around visiting some of the many family and friends I have around the country. I also enjoy watching and going to sporting events. I usually make it to Lambeau and Wrigley fields at least once a season. Go Packers and Cubs!!!
OPEN – Director Individual Development
Agnes Kress – Vice President Community Development
4th Degree Jaycee
Email: CD@waterloojaycees.org
Greetings! My name is Agnes Kress and I have been with the Waterloo Jaycees since October or 2008. As a Waterloo native, I went to college at the University of Dubuque, moved to Orlando for 4 years and came back to the Cedar Valley. It was great to come home to a positive evolving downtown Waterloo. I am employed as a director at KWWL and also work at Younkers on the side. (It’s hard to give up the discount when you have had it as long as I have!) In the past I have helped out with the Scholarship committee, Canoe Cedarloo, Fireworks Celebration and Give Kids the World. I am also an experienced ball spotter thanks to the Waterloo Open. This year as being the director of Community Development I hope to get others involved in the great projects we do every year. I also hope to increase our presence in the community so everyone knows who and what the Jaycces are. After they know, I’m sure membership will grow and prosper which will in turn have a great positive effect on Waterloo.
Jessie Stinson – Vice President Membership
10th Degree Jaycee

I am in my third year as being a member of the Waterloo Jaycees and loving every minute. I became a member of the Jaycees to learn more about the Cedar Valley as well as to give back to the community. My husband Jason and I moved to the Cedar Valley in 2007 when I took a job at UNI as the Program Coordinator for Greek Life. My job not only has me working with the social fraternities and sororities but also Homecoming and Family Weekend. When I am not volunteering with the Jaycees or working at UNI I enjoy traveling back to Kansas to spend time with our families, being on our boat, and yard games. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!
