Irv Warren Memorial at Byrnes Park
Andy Devine has settled in as Pro at Irv Warren Memorial at Byrnes Park.
Originally from south Chicago, Devine is no stranger to Iowa. He's been here since 1976.
Devine had a shorter move from his former position at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, where he was a Pro for 10 years. When asked about his position he said that Irv Warren is a great golf course and he's "happy to be here."
Gates Park
Skip Holton has seen his fair share of golf courses on his way to becoming the Pro at Gates Park in Waterloo.
Beginning his professional career in 1978 as a Pro for a golf course in Florida, Holton has traveled across many fairways and greens throughout the United States and Canada.
Holton was in Florida until 1983, when he decided to concentrate on playing and competing. He played off and on in the PGA tour and in 1984 competed in the US Open at Wingfoot. Holton also played the Canadian tour. A few of his career accomplishments include winning the Waterloo Open twice, the Nebraska State Open, and the North Dakota State Open.
In 1986, Holton became the Pro at Metro Golf Course in Waterloo, Iowa. From Metro, Holton became the Pro at Gates Park in 1990.
